Ready to build a successful marketing plan using the Widest Net as a guide? This series of SUPERclasses will cover specific topics within the book and provide exercises, worksheets and templates to help you grow a sustainable and profitable business.

The Widest Net In-Person Retreat

Are you an economic development professional, founder of a small business incubator,  community builder, movement leader or entrepreneur who wants to develop a strong local community?

About our location: K'é Main Street Learning Lab

In 2016, my husband Darryl and I opened a brick-and-mortar small business learning lab on Main Street in our hometown of Mesa, Arizona. 

We spent three years engaging with the broader community, talking with residents, business owners, and working with everyone who supported them from the city and regional arts center to nonprofits and small business consultants.

We named this space K’é (pronounced “keh”), which is the Diné (Navajo) word meaning “system of kinship.”

In five years, K’é Main street Learning Lab has become a trusted community hub, hosting over 350 events, led by 65 community partners, for over 5,000 community members. Scores of businesses have been launched from the site.

The method that we used to build this vibrant space is detailed in The Widest Net. In our three days together, we will build your plan for connecting with your own community step by step, collaborating with partners here in Mesa who have spent years building an equity-centered, neighborhood-first approach to economic development.
